Story Time: The Great Vada Pav Chase - A Late-Night Adventure in Mumbai

Mumbai's streets are famous for their vibrant nightlife, but little do people know about the quest for the perfect Vada Pav after dark. Buckle up for a wild adventure in pursuit of Mumbai's most coveted snack - the legendary Vada Pav!

The Beginning of the Quest

It all started in March, during the summer internship season in MBA. Six of us flew down to Mumbai for the induction of a renowned MNC, filled with fear and excitement. The company treated us to an exclusive stay at a high-end hotel with continental cuisine for every meal. But as the days passed, we yearned for authentic Mumbai street food.

Off to Mumbai!

The Hunt Begins

After visiting iconic spots like Gateway of India and Marine Drive, we went shopping in Colaba Cosway. Now, all we wanted was a hot Vada Pav with a salty, spicy fried chili on the side. But, to our surprise, no shops were selling Vada Pav! Our friendly driver informed us that Vada Pav is more of a morning eatery, and it's usually not available at night. We were dejected, but our zeal for Vada Pav united us.

The Long and Winding Road

We embarked on a wild goose chase, led by maps, but unsure of the outcome. It felt like we were walking forever, with no cabs stopping to pick us up. Hopelessness loomed over us, but we refused to give up. A passerby helped us by saying that our destination was so near that no cab stopped.  With that one last energy boost, we made our way to the Churchgate railway station.

The Final Straw (or so we thought)

We reached the shop outside the station, only to find it closed! That was the last straw. We thought of settling for frankies from a nearby shop, but our hearts still yearned for Vada Pav. One last time, we decided to check inside the station.

The Triumph

And then, we saw it - a shop selling hot Vada Pavs! We made a beeline for it and indulged in the soft, crispy goodness with a steaming cup of chai. It was the most scrumptious food I've ever had! The hunt made it ten times more delicious.

The golden goodness finally in our hands!

The Cherished Memory

And that's how our hunt came to an end that night. The victory was ours, and we enjoyed every bite of it. It's a cherished memory we'll never forget. Now, it's your turn! Comment below with your favorite Vada Pav spots in Mumbai.
